East Lothian Wedding at Fenton Tower
Off to East Lothian for a wedding ceremony and drinks reception at Fenton Tower. Fenton Tower is a wedding venue where we can only use clarsach, as the spiral staircase and low doorways make it impossible to fit the concert harp in.
Charlotte created some wonderful arrangements of the pieces the bride and groom had chosen for their ceremony, including Clair de lune by Debussy and Spring from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi. We played Winter from the Seasons too, as the weather was decidedly cold, wet and windy!
Up beat music for the drinks, including Here comes the sun – because we caught a glimpse of sunlight through the window! Fenton Tower is a magnificent, fortified 16th-century tower close to North Berwick. It was meticulously restored, and opened in 2002 to provide 5-star accommodation and a lovely wedding venue.
Although the clarsach is smaller and a little quieter than concert harp we are able to arrange many pieces to suit it. For smaller intimate weddings as well as venues where access is difficult the clarsach works very well with flute. We are also able to lead hymns when required.
For further information – we have examples of wedding packages on our website, although we like to tailor things for each couple, to help make their day exactly what they want. Our website also contains some short sound bites of the different styles of music we play. Please get in touch if you want to find out more or discuss your special day.
