Onyx Brass - Classical & Jazz
Since 1993 Onyx Brass has been dominating the international
brass chamber music world. Dubbed "easily the classiest brass ensemble in
Britain" by BBC Music magazine, it has performed at festivals all over Europe
and the USA to huge critical acclaim. The group was conceived by way of filling
the huge gap in the market for a serious yet approachable brass chamber
ensemble. From the Universities of Idaho and Washington state on the West Coast
of the USA to the Bastad Chamber music festival in Sweden, from the Schleswig
Holstein Festival in Germany to Baltimore, USA, Onyx continues to make new
friends all over the world. The players are:
 | David Gordon-Shute, tuba |
 | Andre Sutton, French horn |
 | Brian Thomson, trumpet |
 | Niall Keatley, trumpet |
 | Amos Miller, trombone |

Artists' Requirements:
 |
It is suggested that before booking, promoters
review the artists' requirements below
 | No. of people 5
people. |
 | Standard requirements
All SEMS artists should be provided with good overhead lighting (or
other suitable lighting set-up for the concert), and adequate heating in
changing rooms and performance area from the beginning of the rehearsal. |
 | Technical Requirements
The promoter should provide Onyx Brass with 4 flat seated armless chairs
and one piano stool on stage (alternatively 5 flat seated armless
chairs) and five stable but adjustable music stands. The lighting should
be direct and adequate for reading at distance. In cases of work with
choirs, the stage plan arrangements will be made individually with the
conductor/promoter but it is likely that at least the above will be
required. |
 | Complimentary Tickets
Onyx Brass may require up
to five complimentary tickets, however this is very unusual. The ticket
requests will be made no later than one month in advance of the concert. |
 | Meals A light meal
and hot drinks for the artists should normally be provided by the
promoter.
Please provide water and some glasses in the dressing room and on the stage
– playing is thirsty work!. |
 | Travel The group travels
in two/three cars, and will need parking for their vehicles close to the
stage door. A clear map or directions to the venue must be provided,
including full address and postcode, and should arrive no
later than two weeks before the event. The map is most convenient if sent by
e-mail - please send it to SEMS and we will
forward it. |
